Experience the power of public education.
The Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD) Board of Education has created the Inspiration in Education A
The first recipient of this distinguished award went to Michael Johnson AP Chemistry/AP Physics teacher at Sylvan Hills High School. Mr. Johnson was nominated by senior Hunter Lapaglia. Here is his nomination letter,
Mr. Johnson has helped inspire me to achieve more, not only in the classroom, but in all other endeavors, also. I have known Mr. Johnson since my freshman year, when he began to help out as a percussion technician for our drum line. Having Mr. Johnson around helped the members of our line stay motivated, and strive to achieve more. He has also been my teacher for my Pre-AP Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and AP Physics courses. He has a way of teaching that links every topic to real world examples that allow us to get a better understanding of the material being presented. His work ethic is one like I have never seen before, and his dedication to his job and his students is absolutely remarkable. He has always made himself available to help anyone in any way. This has helped me specifically because my mother is going through her second diagnosis of cancer, and he has been someone I could always talk to about what is going on. Mr. Johnson is an outstanding educator, and an even more outstanding person. I can think of no other person that is more deserving of this award than him. Thank you for his consideration.
