"We were trying to figure out if the temperature of water affects the rate of dye dispersing in the water? I predicted that the temperature will change how the dye disperses in water because when you put some dye it might go faster in hot water and slower in cold water. The data showed the cold water took 15:05 minutes for the dye to disperse, the hot water took 22 seconds for the dye to disperse, and the room temperature water took 7:06 to disperse the dye. I concluded that the cold water had less energy because there was less heat. The room temperature water was faster than the cold water and slower than the hot water. The hot water mixed faster than both because heat is energy and energy makes things move faster." Special Thanks to 4th grader, Sally C. for providing experiment details. view image
