Parents, here is a sample COVID-19 schedule that many in the academic world are using during school closures. Hope this helps provide a little coordination to your days at home.


March is Women's History Month. Pat Lile is co-founder of the Women's Foundation of Arkansas and has received both state and federal recognition for the volunteer efforts in both Pine Bluff and Little Rock. Lile was inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2017.

PCSSD will join the City of Little Rock in food distribution on Monday, March 16. We will deliver food to the following locations between 11am - 11:30am. These are only PICK UP locations for food (not sit down and eat locations).


March is Women's History Month. Ruth Hawkins is a strong advocate for historic preservation and heritage tourism in the Delta. The Arkansas State University Heritage Sites program has grown under her leadership. She was inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2017.

March is Women's History Month. Karen Flake is the president and CEO of Mount St. Mary Academy and, in 1996, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Development Finance Authority. Flake was inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2018.

STATEMENT 3/3: Thank you for understanding our decision to follow the Governor's orders.

STATEMENT 2/3: In a statement on Wednesday, March 11, it was announced that Governor Hutchinson has the sole authority to close public school campuses. PCSSD will continue to work closely with state offices and health departments as we monitor the progress of COVID-19.

STATEMENT 1/3: Per direction by the Governor of Arkansas, Pulaski County Special School District will be closed until March 30. The decision came after an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases across the nation.

AVID students MAUMELLE HIGH completed the Pringles challenge in just 30 minutes. This is an engineering activity where students are divided into groups and must create a ring using only Pringles chips. They cannot use any other materials. #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence


March is Women's History Month. Bettye Caldwell played an integral role in the development of Head Start and was named one of Ladies' Home Journal's 10 Women of the Year in 1978. Caldwell moved to Arkansas in the 1960s and inducted into the Arkansas Women's Hall of Fame in 2016.

The Senior Lunch will be held after graduation practice on May 20th from 11am-1pm at the Maumelle Community Center.
The luncheon will be FREE. However, students must pick up their FREE ticket in room 412. There will be italian food, entertainment and door prizes.
Senior Students can begin picking up their senior lunch ticket today, but the DEADLINE to pick up tickets is March 20th. No FREE tickets will be handed out after March 20th and no students will be admitted who didn't pick up by March 20th.

We held our "SWARM" assembly earlier this week to reward students, teachers and staff for their great work in February. Congrats to February PBIS winners: Devin Watson (student of month), Mrs. Daigle (teacher of month) and Mr. Chambers (staff of month) for your hard work!

February is Black History Month. Sheryl Underwood is a comedian and television host of The Talk. She founded the African American Female Comedian Association. Underwood was born in Little Rock and inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2007.
