Judge Olly Neal Jr. was the first black district prosecuting attorney in Arkansas and served as a circuit court judge and on the Arkansas Court of Appeals. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 2014.

Due to ADE regulations, the district is not allowed to declare a SNOW day and close down.
