February is Black History Month. Samuel Massie Jr. was a chemist and worked on the Manhattan Project during WWII. His research led to medications to treat malaria, meningitis and more. He was born in North Little Rock and inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 1998.
Attention Robinson parents,
The counselors will be meeting with students during their history classes this week to register for classes for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year. Please review your student's course selections and have them return the form with your signature to the counseling office by February 21.
UPDATE on Joe T. Robinson High School: Little Rock Police Department has searched the building and everything is clear. Students and staff are returning to class for the day.
PCSSD is aware of a bomb threat made on a bathroom stall inside Joe T. Robinson High School. The school has been evacuated and local law enforcement are investigating the threat. We will update once the search is complete.
February is Black History Month. Vice Admiral Edward Moore Jr. was the highest ranking African American in the Navy at the time of his retirement. Moore's family moved to Little Rock while he was in high school. He was inducted into the Arkansas Black Hall of Fame in 1999.
Robinson High School will host a cheer clinic for grades K-6 on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9am - 12pm. $30 per cheerleader includes a t-shirt. Students will perform on Feb. 21 during halftime of the basketball games.

February is American Heart Month. Help raise awareness for heart disease by participating in "Wear Red Day" this Friday (Feb. 7). Together we are empowering women to beat heart disease and stroke, giving them more time to do amazing things.

ELA classes at ROBINSON HIGH SCHOOL participate in escape room style info-text activities that involve ACT Aspire style questions in the LLC. These questions focus on word choice, supporting evidence, reading comprehension, and summarizing.

Eli Keller has two kids who both attend PCSSD schools. His fiancée, Mary, has 3 kids. When he's not chasing around the kids, Eli volunteers for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Arkansas.
