PULASKI COUNTY, Ark. -- Three Sylvan Hills Middle students were recently recognized by Economics Arkansas for their participation in the Fall Stock Market Game. Sixth graders, Kinley Hilliard, Matilda Criswell, and Bella Kohler, took first place in the After School division of the tournament.
Each student received $50, a medallion, a certificate and will attend a special luncheon in May. The school will also get to display a banner for their hard work.
The Stock Market Game™ is an investment simulation facilitated nationwide by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Foundation. It challenges students in grades 4-12 to grow a hypothetical $100,000 portfolio over the course of each fall and spring semester or the whole school year.
Economics Arkansas is a nonprofit educational organization that trains educators on how to incorporate economic and personal finance concepts into the PreK-12 classroom and facilitates the statewide program each year.
