Students in Ms. Holden's 7th grade Integrated Science class created corkscrew prototypes. This was a project that the Little Rock Reclamation Authority demonstrated for students. It's an Engineering Design as Communications project concept. The students definitely enjoyed this one!

During parent-teacher conferences last week, the AVID students set up a table in the front entry to greet parents. They invited parents to write their child a positive postcard and the AVID students worked with Mrs. Hum to put the notes in the designated lockers throughout the week!





October is National Bullying Prevention Month. SYLVAN HILLS MIDDLE's Makenzie Marbray says, "Whenever you see bullying, whether it be physically or mentally, you must stop it. If someone's behavior goes without being checked, it just gets worse."

Several students at Sylvan Hills Middle gathered before school this morning for the annual "See You at the Pole" moment of prayer. See You at the Pole is an annual gathering of thousands of Christian students at school flag poles (and other locations) to pray for students and staff. Thank you for praying for our school!
