Happy Earth Day! This annual event began in 1970 where people demonstrate support for environmental protection. In October 2020, PCSSD launched a new communication tool called Peachjar which has saved 87 trees! Learn more: www.pcssd.org/page/peachjar-info

April is Scottish-American Heritage Month where we celebrate the contributions of Scottish-Americans to our modern society. In 1998, Jason Emory Nickerson designed the Arkansas Traveler Tartan, which is listed on the Scottish Tartans World Register.

PCSSD is excited to announce our 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year winners for each school! These amazing educators went above and beyond for their students this year. Congratulations to Dawn Irby from JOE T. ROBINSON MIDDLE! #pcssdproud #equityandexcellence

The tax deadline is Monday, April 18, so there are still a few days to submit individual income tax returns to the federal government.

Passover celebrates the exodus of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. The Passover Seder is one of the most widely observed rituals in Judaism.

Good Friday is the day Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Three days later he would be resurrected from the dead.

Just a reminder - there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 15. The schools are closed for teacher professional development. However, District offices will be open with regular business hours on Friday. Enjoy the weekend!

WEATHER UPDATE:
The severe weather threat looks to have moved out of the Pulaski County area. Therefore, we will dismiss secondary schools at regular time. Thank you for your patience today.

WEATHER UPDATE:
Based on the latest weather updates, radar indicates that we will be able to release elementary students on time at 2:45pm. We will have update on dismissal for secondary students soon.

PCSSD is monitoring the severe weather as it moves across the state this afternoon. In order to keep our students and staff safe, we will delay dismissal until severe threats pass through Pulaski County. Students and staff will remain in the safe areas inside the building. If a parent wishes to pick up their child, you must do so before a tornado warning is in place. Once students and staff are in shelter, we cannot release them until the warning expires. We will update you as the weather changes and its impact on dismissal time.

PCSSD will host a series of community meetings for our "Building for the Future" projects. The 5th meeting is for an expansion of Robinson High on Thursday (April 14) at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. The community is invited to come and participate in this open discussion.
