Schedules...I know that you want to know the class schedule but they simply are not finished. Creating virtual, blended, and traditional schedules while maintaining reduced class sizes (trying to maintain 15 per class in person) and reduced building capacity (50% allowed on campus) is a monumental task and it has been difficult to complete. We think maybe today, but probably tomorrow. I will post and callout when they are complete and then there will still be things to fix. We are doing all we can to get this done.

Blended Students: -Students with last names beginning A-I that are car riders or walkers will be 'A' Day (Monday and Tuesday on campus). - Last names beginning J-Z that are car riders or walkers will be 'B' Day (Thursday and Friday on campus). -Bus riders may be different and should be notified by transportation. -We will make accommodations as needed to keep siblings on the same schedule.

As of tonight we’ve handed out approximately 800 chromebooks. At any other pcssd middle school we would be done but for Sylvan Hills, that’s about 2/3 finished. We will be in the gym parking lot 2 more times...4-7 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Don’t miss out on your students most important school supply.

Parents, We will, again, be handing out chromebooks this evening from 4-7 in the lot nearest the gym. Pull through near the gym, we will take the name of your student, and then deliver a device to your vehicle. Its gone really smoothly so far. We will do this tonight and 3 nights next week. It is crucial your child has a device from day 1! Our kids are behind from the events of this past spring and SHMS is going to hit the ground running to catch up. Please partner with us in seeing that your child has every learning opportunity and resource that we can possibly provide.

Avoiding the Summer Slide
Beating the summer slide can be done by some simple activities during the summer. Physical education is also important to continued learning. Find a park with walking trails and playground equipment for children to play.
